Racism, anti-Semitism and discrimination

How can we ensure that the organisation’s values are embraced without being imposed?

‘Slip of the tongue’, “humour”, ‘provocation’... racist, sexist or discriminatory comments and behaviour are not always easy to categorise.

‘We’re used to it, we grit our teeth and let it pass’, ‘oh, we know him well, he’s a bit of a pain but he doesn’t mean any harm’... Year after year, this behaviour has a significant and lasting impact, both on employees and on the organisation.

Without judgement or moralising, and without seeking to change people, we equip organisations to respond to such comments and behaviour:

  • Training for teams and managers

  • Setting up or supporting incident reporting points and/or channels

  • Bespoke programmes, designed to reflect real-world conditions

  • An international team of trainers (Paris, Brussels, London) available for large-scale sessions

Our experience at Thalys-Eurostar:

promoting inclusion in our day-to-day work

Since 2019, we have been supporting Thalys and, following the merger in 2022, Eurostar in developing an inclusive and intercultural culture. Through the Vivre-Ensemble and Everyone Belongs programmes, our systematic approach is designed to engage both senior management and frontline staff across the five countries covered by the company. It is based on an approach rooted in collective intelligence, the creation of safe and non-judgemental spaces for dialogue, and the provision of practical tools to prevent and manage discriminatory or conflictual behaviour. The interventions are tailored to different professional and local cultures, with the aim of sustainably reinforcing the company’s values whilst taking into account the specific characteristics of each country and profession.

  • 11 workshops bringing together managers and staff from France, England, Belgium and the Netherlands

  • Over 400 people trained (train managers, Customer Service, Rolling Stock, etc.)

  • Establishment and supervision of a network of diversity and inclusive working environment representatives

  • Webinar for all employees

  • Facilitation of internal meetings

  • Support in the event of an incident

  • 6 DEI training sessions for mental health representatives

6 years of support
